Dr. Malar

Dr. Malar is one of those rare people who seem to have a boundless wealth of knowledge on business models and strategy. She has helped organizations develop strategic plans and business plans which maximize value creation opportunities. Her main forte is in strategy execution and her structured and detailed approach at implementing action plans and monitoring the progress has earned her a track record in the industry.

She holds a Ph. D in Political Science and has had research papers presented and published at conferences all over the globe. Her advice is sought after across Europe and Asia and she has been a key figure in the development interventions of disadvantaged women communities in Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Nepal.

She has more than 20 years of experience in training corporate organisations, SMEs, Educational Institutions, NGOs and Community Based Organisations on topics such as Strategic Planning, Business Planning, Business Strategy, Critical Thinking, Leadership for Senior Managers, Culture Change and Entrepreneurship for Women.

She is also an academician and a dissertation supervisor for MBA, DBA and Ph. D Programmes and her modules of specialisation include Strategic Management, Change Management, Business Consulting, Leadership and Entrepreneurship.

She is an active social worker whose area of specialisation is in the socio-economic development of underserved women communities in Malaysia and Sri Lanka. Inspired by Professor Muhammad Yunus of Bangladesh, whom she understudied in 2009, she replicated the Grameen Model amongst Refugee Communities in Malaysia, B20 and B40 women headed households and women affected by war in Sri Lanka. She founded an NGO in 2004 aimed at enhancing the socio-economic development of disadvantaged women communities.

In 2021, Dr. Malar started her work addressing poverty, hunger, health, education, gender equality, economic empowerment and inequality under 8 of the 17 UN SDGs. She partners with corporate organisations, government agencies, NGOs, CBOs and Educational Institutions to help achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development
